Acqua Di Gio (pronounced as ahk-wa di zho) perfume is designed by the world’s most famous designer, Giorgio Armani, as declared by Forbes in the year 2000. The fragrance was made in view of capturing the essence of paradise and was introduced in the year 1995. It is a floral scent with a touch of the ocean breeze.
Acqua Di Gio combines fresh notes of hyacinth, jasmine, lily, rose, melon and pear with base notes of sandalwood and musk. The essence of Acqua Di Gio embodies a lot of distinct smells, some beyond what my 21 years of olfactory memory can distinguish, maybe due to the fragrance’ very unique blend of scents, but the smell is extremely pleasant to my senses.
It opens up with the juicy scent of peach, lemon, and pineapple at it’s ripest. Then it shifts into a heart note that depicts a bouquet of floral scents that is so fresh it makes you think of spring. Then it dries up to an equally interesting aroma of musk, sandalwood and amber.
Acqua Di Gio comes in a very classic designed bottle that is very elegant looking makes you instantly expect that it is a high-end perfume ones you get a glimpse of it. It is a transparent bottle that has a hue of the lightest blue from its contents. The bottle cap is gold in color and the label infront comes in black ink with the word Gio written in an odd font that I cannot distinguish. The only downside of this bottle is that it is one that you would want to really handle with care.
Fragrance staying power
The endurance of this scent is just amazing. I sprayed some amounts to a few parts of my body early in the morning after bath and I was astounded that up until afternoon I was still enjoying the fragrance.
For daily use
Aqua Di Gio is very light and fresh, it is a citrusy floral fragrance combined with the smell of sea breeze making it both warm and marine in scent. This perfume is very apt for the spring and summer seasons. You wouldn’t want to smell any other way on these occasions once you’ve tried this perfume on. It perfectly depicts the feel of summer and spring.
But do not limit your self to using this on spring and summer alone for this fragrance also has watery and aquatic hints to it making it versatile enough to be worn at colder seasons and at night time.
Aqua Di Gio has a lot of distinct smell that is so pleasant, it makes you think of a thousand flowers blooming at spring, fruits at its ripest, and the ocean breeze at sunset. Acqua Di Gio for me is the second best perfume next to my favorite Jean Patou’s Un Amour de Patou, do not get me wrong though both perfumes are distinct from one another. But both these fragrances captured my heart, it may capture your heart too.
