Initial Features

The Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ is very sleek and compact, weighing 18.2 grams and measuring 9.46 inches (H) x 6.41 inches (W) x 0.45 inch (D). It features a brilliant HD display at 1080p with full high definition capabilities. There is a fully laminated screen cover to minimize glare and ensure that you can watch from various angles. Users can watch videos at a resolution of 1920 x 1280 pixels at 256 pixels per inch.

The Nook has the OMAP4470 dual-core processor with a speed of 1.5 GHz. It can also last several hours. You can expect a maximum of 10 hours when reading ebooks and browsing documents or up to 9 hours when watching videos. The device also features either 16GB or 32GB of memory.

Availability to store user is 13GB for the 16GB version and 28GB for the 32GB. You can also increase the memory by getting a microSD card. The card is available separately.

There are also a number of connective capabilities for the Nook HD+ such as the universal 3.5mm stereo headphone jack, expandable microSD slot and 30-pin port to charge the device to a computer. It is also HDMI compatible. The Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ can support different types of files.

Ebook reading is still its specialty. The device can store DOC, PDF, ePUB, ZIP, DRP, OIP, TXT, RTF, XLS, PPS, PPT, ePIB, FOLIO, PPSX, XLSX, DOCX., LOG, EML and PPTX. The whole package already includes the Nook, power adapter, USB cable, rechargeable battery and Quick Start Guide.

More Features

The Barnes & Noble Nook HD+ is powered by the Android 4.0.3 Ice Cream Sandwich. The operating system has been skinned by the company and the functionalities have also been adjusted so users do not feel like they are even using Android. The operating system was especially made for easy navigating and ease-of-use. You will discover a desktop with a carousel that allows you to move through the different shortcuts. The status bar will also show a number of icons.
