If you look for walking shoes that help you in your foot or back condition, that actually look masculine and strong, then this Wrap Slam Gore-Tex model is for you. It has a thick upper sole, but is made of a mesh material that makes it perfectly breathable and fresh.

It comes in a brown and black color but it’s not about with clothes you combine them, since this model is about practicability and toughness to solve problems in uneven terrains and wet conditions. That’s why the Gore Tex gasket construction type of design makes one of the most adequate you can find in that aspect.

Merrell Chameleon Wrap Slam Gore-Tex XCR features

That’s why you see a protective molder rubber rand and a protective molded rubber toe bumper. The design of the upper sole per se is composed of two layers, and on top of that you can adjust your laces by simply pulling them with the elastic system.

The midsole area is made of inboard compression EVA material for more support and control. You won’t feel as if you’re wearing concrete shoes as in other models that just put too much in stock that they are ridiculously heavy and uncomfortable.

These shoes have an air cushioned inner sole that is also of an anatomical shape and the arch is made of nylon. The friction cordlock avoid overheating in ankle areas.

As you see, all of these materials together make this model completely waterproof, which is a plus in any risk involving activity you want to develop. For the price of $80, it’s more than justifiable since this version is practically made to resist everything.

Merrell Chameleon Wrap Slam Gore-Tex XCR benefits

It may not be a sound or known brand with lots of publicity, but Merrel Chameleon is more about specific shoes for specific people that does trekking or travel to exotic locations. In this case, you have a lightweight shoe that resists about anything you can imagine, but it feels lightweight and flexible at the same time.

One thing I noticed is that the sole may wear out a bit too easily after one or two months of use. With the current warranty, you can replace it at no cost, though. The sole can also feel slippery on some wet rubber surfaces, given that it’s rubber against rubber, but unless you work in a fabric or place that specifically has that type of deck, you shouldn’t have any problems.
