Of a simple design and the generic blue and white colors and the very subtle white and pink, the WW558 Walking shoes by New Balance are all about comfort for walking.
If you have any kind of back problems or spend too much hours standing around, be it by work or else, these shoes are definitely for you since they were designed for long-lasting use. The same goes for people with wide feet that look for a shoe that adapts to the shape of their feet.
New Balance Women’s WW558 Walking Shoe characteristics
These casual walking shoes have an EVA midsole with a C-Cap compression that reduces foot stress by absorbing all bumps or strong impacts, as well as allowing for more flexibility. The inner cushioning is made of Dupont Engage and Isoprene rubber for an optimum experience.
The outsole by Walking Strike Path also helps in stabilizing your feet as you go along the streets or semi irregular roads. This technology is based on the walking gait cycle, the real way a human being walks.
The upper features are made of synthetic leather that lets oxygen pass through the feet, keeping them fresh, and reflective details that don’t let the sun rays or the heat of the road to pass though these shoes. The solid rubber Ndurance sole is always presents as with any New Balance sneakers, as they ensure maximum durability for use in high wear locations. So, yes, these shoes are for long distances and high performances.
New Balance Women’s WW558 Walking Shoe downsides
One minor issue that I’ve found when wearing them is that they can get oddly narrow on the toe area, squishing them a bit. Of course, that wore off after a few days of use. And you will notice a significant difference between the left shoe and the right one, as if the heel of the right is lower than the left. That’s just the Walking Strike Path technology. This can be uncomfortable at the beginning but again I got used to it.
I can understand why some people wouldn’t like them and instead buy a more standard type of walking shoes, but at the pricing of approximately $48-$63, it can be a wild guess.
